In business since 1948, this is an example of true faded americana; something that many contemporary businesses incorporate in their faux-vintage efforts. Since the ’60s it has been owned and run by the same family. Serving up classic diner fare, 24 hours a day (closed Tuesdays) its customers come from all walks of life, waterfront workers, truck drivers, office workers and families. And in certain seasons, though I do not have this on any authority, politicians.
Being in Baltimore it is immersed in continuing arguments over “who has the best crab cakes”? It acquits itself with excellence and little fanfare.
